The King of Greek Reds - 3-wine gift set

This set is designed for those who wish to experience the diverse nuances of Greece’s “king of reds” – Xinomavro. While Italians proudly claim Nebbiolo doesn’t “travel,” the Greeks counter with their own Xinomavro. Known for its distinctive sun-dried tomato aromas, this grape is celebrated in three premier growing regions – Naoussa, Amindeo, and Rapsani. Each wine exemplifies its region’s style, with each winery famed for exceptional quality. Recommended tasting order:

1. Dougos Rapsani Old Vines, 0.75L, dry red, primarily Xinomavro with a touch of Krasato and Stavroto, from 70-year-old vines on the slopes of Mount Olympus, aged 18 months in French oak.
2. Kokkinos Paliokalias, 0.75L, dry red, pure Xinomavro, from 55-year-old vines, aged 18 months in French and American oak and 4 years in the bottle.
   
3. Alpha Xinomavro Reserve, 0.75L, dry red, pure Xinomavro from 100-year-old vines, aged 24 months in French oak.
